About

Venus Women’s Rights Association was originally founded in Riga, Latvia, as a small yet passionate community devoted to the advancement of women’s rights. Its initial purpose was to create a safe and empowering space where women could speak out, seek support, and stand together against the injustices they face in their daily lives. The group focused on encouraging women to take ownership of their careers, protect themselves against violence and harassment, combat workplace mobbing, and most importantly, realize that they are not alone in the social challenges they face.

As time passed, the need for such support grew. Social, political, and economic changes globally led to an increasing number of women seeking guidance and solidarity. Simultaneously, many individuals were inspired to contribute to the movement. With this growing momentum, the community transitioned into an official association in 2022, expanding its outreach and impact.

Today, Venus Women’s Rights Association continues to grow steadily, welcoming new members and supporters every day. The association operates with the help of many dedicated volunteers and professionals who believe in a common cause: creating a world where women can thrive equally and freely. Our work is not limited to Latvia; we strive to be a global platform that reaches out to women in all corners of the world, regardless of their background, and offers support, empowerment, and a shared voice for change. Through diverse projects, partnerships, and initiatives, we are actively working toward a more just and inclusive society.

Vision

We envision a future where women live free from fear, oppression, and inequality—a future built on feminist principles, where solidarity, empowerment, and justice prevail. Our vision is to dismantle the structural systems that perpetuate gender-based violence and discrimination and to create environments where women can live, grow, and succeed on their own terms.

We believe that violence against women is not isolated or accidental—it is a result of entrenched gender norms, cultural expectations, and systemic inequalities that have persisted for centuries. Through research and experience, we have seen how these norms grant unjust power and control to certain groups, while silencing and endangering others. Our vision is rooted in challenging this imbalance.

We aim to foster a world where women's voices are not only heard but respected; where women's rights are not only protected but celebrated. A world where solidarity among women transcends borders, cultures, and identities. A world where every woman, regardless of her background, feels empowered to shape her own future.

This vision guides our actions and inspires our efforts every day. We believe that by standing together, educating one another, and advocating for change, we can transform societies and build a better future for all.

Mission

Our mission is to create a just, equal, and free world where no woman is subjected to violence, marginalization, or gender-based discrimination. We envision a society where women are not merely protected from harm but are also empowered to live fully, express themselves freely, and participate actively in all aspects of life—social, economic, political, and cultural.

The concept of gender is vast and deeply intertwined with many societal structures and expectations. At Venus Women’s Rights Association, we recognize that gender inequality manifests in countless ways—from access to education and employment, to representation in leadership, to domestic safety, and freedom of expression. That’s why our mission extends beyond surface-level interventions. We aim to address the root causes of inequality and challenge the norms and stereotypes that perpetuate discrimination.

We are committed to being present in every sphere where women’s rights are overlooked or violated. From grassroots activism to international collaborations, we dedicate ourselves to being a consistent and powerful voice for women everywhere. Whether it is through educational programs, support networks, advocacy campaigns, or solidarity initiatives, our mission drives everything we do.

Our Objectives

Venus Women’s Rights Association works to achieve its mission and vision through a series of focused objectives, each designed to respond to real-world needs and challenges faced by women:

  • Amplifying Women’s Voices: We aim to provide platforms—both online and offline—that allow women to express themselves freely, share their experiences, and raise awareness about the issues they face.

  • Reaching Every Woman, Everywhere: We strive to reach women from all walks of life, regardless of geography, age, socioeconomic status, or background. We believe that access to support and empowerment should not be a privilege, but a right.

  • Preventing and Responding to Violence: We work to generate public awareness and policy action against physical, psychological, and social violence. Our goal is not only to respond when violence occurs but to prevent it before it starts by changing mindsets and societal norms.

  • Eliminating Discrimination: We advocate for gender equality in all areas of life—including education, employment, leadership, and family life—and we work toward the removal of barriers that perpetuate discrimination between men and women.

  • Supporting Career and Professional Growth: We help women gain the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed in their careers. We promote economic independence and leadership among women.

  • Promoting Shared Consciousness: We emphasize the importance of collective identity and solidarity among women. We believe that recognizing our shared experiences is key to resisting male-dominated power structures.

  • Encouraging Collaboration: We engage in partnerships with local, national, and international actors to build a united front against violence and injustice.

  • Exploring Non-Violent Communication: We promote peaceful, inclusive, and respectful communication and conflict resolution methods, helping women articulate their needs and boundaries confidently.

  • Fostering Personal Growth: We support women’s personal development through educational programs, mentorship, and counseling that build self-awareness, resilience, and empowerment.

  • Building Safe and Meaningful Connections: We encourage face-to-face dialogue and relationship-building among women, helping to create a stronger sense of belonging and mutual understanding.

  • Rejecting the “Savior” Mentality: We do not position ourselves as rescuers or heroes. Instead, we build mutual solidarity with the women we support, believing in shared growth, strength, and empowerment.

Finally, we firmly oppose any form of discrimination based on identity—including age, ethnic origin, language, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic situation, political views, or religious belief. As an inclusive organization, we are committed to diversity and to fostering a safe, respectful, and equitable environment for everyone involved in our work.
